Tom O’Brien is set for bigger role in the Philip Hobbs’ team.

Ashby Underwriting sponsored Tom O’Brien, has been involved with Philip Hobbs yard over the past 15 years, including being named champion conditional with support from Philip Hobbs back in 2006-2007.
The recent news of Richard Johnson’s retirement, Tom now takes the position as Philip Hobbs stable Jockey, with Philip confirming on Racing TV’s Luck on Sunday that Tom will be taking the majority of the rides, alongside 3lb claimers, Sean Houlihan and Ben Jones.
Tom has had some nice winners for the yard most recently at this years Grand National meeting at Aintree in the Ryanair Stayers Hurdle on board Thyme Hill. Tom rode Dream Alliance to victory in the 2009 running of the Welsh Grand National.
